SAT Subject Tests, also known as SAT II's, are hour-long multiple choice tests offered in 21 subject areas: English, Math, Science, History, and Languages.
SAT Subject Tests are offered throughout the year on the same testing dates as the SAT Reasoning Test.
Why take SAT Subject Tests?
Required or recommended: Many colleges, particularly the more selective colleges, require or recommend certain SAT Subject Tests.
Exhibit strengths: SAT Subject Tests offer an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their strengths in particular subject areas.
Stand out: Taking several SAT Subject Tests and showing off successful scores can help an applicant stand out!
Because school grades can be difficult to compare across school districts or states, SAT Subject Tests offer colleges a way to make apple-to-apples comparisons among students from different high schools.
