Ashleigh, High School Junior, Texas

Self-Described Personality.
Happy, positive, optimistic.

Life Outside the Classroom.
A softball enthusiast, Ashleigh plays first base and outfield on her high school’s varsity team. When time allows, she also volunteers at Christian Community Action, a local organization that provides food, shelter and medical assistance to the underserved.

Academic Bragging Rights.
Ashleigh’s parents have always placed an emphasis on education, and she’s always done her best to earn good grades. Last summer, when she approached them about attending an SAT prep course, they were extremely supportive. After just three months of attending C2, Ashleigh’s PSAT score improved by 370 points! The skills and test-taking tips she’s acquired have helped her in her schoolwork as well as decreasing anxiety she would feel sometimes before a big exam due to her “perfectionist” personality.

The C2 Advantage.
The 1:3 teacher-student ratio is one of the things about C2 that Ashleigh appreciates.  “My high school offers a nine-week SAT prep course, but there are 30 kids in a class,” she said. “At C2, the instructors will take the time to review every question I’ve missed on my SAT practice tests. It would be impossible for me to get that kind of attention at school.” Ashleigh also credits C2 with helping her to do well in a pre-calculus class earlier this year.

Big Dreams.
Ashleigh acknowledges she’s “been all over the place” in terms of selecting a career path.  With many different interests, she’s given thought to pursuing a career in psychology, physical therapy, marketing, and architecture.  This summer, she vows to” really start thinking seriously about a career.”

Smart essays focus on well-structured arguments. Grammar and spelling are secondary and give you no score advantage.
