Evan Godfrey, Instructor, Charlotte, NC

The Right Stuff.
Evan studied history, anthropology and classics at Elon University, with an eye towards eventually teaching college history. “I always knew I would teach,” he said, “but I just never thought I would be teaching so soon.” Evan honed his leadership skills as a high school stand-out player on the soccer fields of North Carolina, and as an Elon College Fellow. “I grew up with a constant balance of athletics and academics in my life. In both arenas, I found that people tend to follow a leader who has talent and works hardest; for this reason, I try to lead by example.”

Why C2.
Evan was drawn to a career at C2 by their reputation for personalized curricula. “We create a tailor-made course of study based on the specific needs of each student, and this allows us to better accommodate the different learning styles of our pupils.” He has become extremely enthusiastic about essay writing. “Finding the best way to communicate complex thoughts in an organized manner is something that I find quite intriguing.”

Smart Advice.
“I constantly remind the students that material is always difficult at first, but that with vigilant effort we can achieve all things.” A big fan of quotes, he ends his lessons with these words of wisdom: “The person who believes he can and the person who believes he can’t are both correct.”
