George, Eighth Grader, Virginia
Self-Described Personality.
Outgoing and affable, wild guy
who likes to have fun and stand out from the rest of the crowd.
Life Outside the Classroom.
Though George loves many, many
rock (and some metal) bands from the 70’s to the 90’s, his favorites
are Nirvana and Three Days Grace. An avid musician, he is learning to play the
guitar and has been playing the piano for seven years and the drums for a year
and half.
Academic Bragging Rights.
Just over two years ago,
George was in the 5th grade, but performing at the 4th grade level in math. His
parents hoped he could pull his grade up by doing some extra studying at home,
but when he showed no improvement, he began attending C2 classes twice a week.
Last year, George completed the 7th grade at the top of his class in math. He
now loves the subject and considers it, “one of my best and most favorite
subjects.”
The C2 Advantage.
Not only has C2 helped George turn his
math scores around, he credits his instructors with giving him the confidence
he needs in just about all of his school work. “C2 gives me a head start.
Now, when I’m in class at school, I can raise my hand when the teacher
asks a question because I know the answer. I’m not embarrassed to raise
my hand anymore.”
Big Dreams.
George hopes to be a rock star. But he is keeping
his options open: “If the rock star thing doesn’t work out, I’d
like to become a mathematician.”

Smart essays focus on well-structured arguments. Grammar and spelling are secondary and give you no score advantage.
