Gabriele, High School Freshman, Maryland
Self-Described Personality.
Quiet, shy, soft-spoken.
Life Outside the Classroom.
A dedicated athlete, Gabriele
participates on both the basketball and swim teams. Last year, her proudest moment
came when she won three ribbons in one day in the backstroke, freestyle and breaststroke
competitions.
Academic Bragging Rights.
Since enrolling in C2 two
years ago, Gabriele has overcome her shyness in the classroom and is more confident
in school. She says, “I can ask questions now without feeling intimidated.
I went from getting C’s to earning A’s and B’s in all my classes. If
my friends had to describe me, they’d say I’m smart.”
The C2 Advantage.
Gabriele likes the way C2 teachers give
her the attention she needs. As one of just three students in her tutoring group,
she says, “The teachers at C2 review things at a slower pace. They aren’t
so rushed to move on to the next subject before you’re ready. They take
the time to make sure I comprehend what they’re teaching.”
Big Dreams.
Gabriele, who once dreaded geometry, now hopes
to pursue a career as an architect. “I would love to design and build houses,” she
says. Though it’s too early to begin applying to college as a freshman,
Gabriele is considering staying close to home by attending Georgetown University.

Smart essays focus on well-structured arguments. Grammar and spelling are secondary and give you no score advantage.
