Edward, College Senior, University of Chicago

Self-Described Personality.
Ambitious, friendly and passionate.

Life Outside the Classroom.
When Edward visits his folks in New Jersey, they try to catch the latest Broadway musical. He also plays guitar and sings for the Inter-Varsity Christian Friday Night Fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Academic Bragging Rights.
Edward first attended C2 when he was in eighth grade to prep for his PSATs. A C2 had just opened in Edison, NJ. He remained with C2 all through high school at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, NJ, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class, and watched his SAT scores jump almost 200 points after C2 coaching. While he was “straight and narrow” in high school, he is enjoying himself more in college and recently switched his major from pre-med to economics and political science. C2 gave him the confidence to truly understand his abilities and Edward realized that he had more of a “business and consulting” mind than a medical one.

The C2 Advantage.
Edward was “astonished” by his teachers at C2. He said they were, not only “mind-bogglingly smart, but so much more! They were very caring and spent whatever time it took to see things through my eyes.” He’ll never forget, when he was in 10th grade, one of his C2 teachers “never got mad, even when I knew it must have been very frustrating for him when I just couldn’t get a problem solved. His level of patience was amazing.” Edward says that, at C2, “You’ll be able to find a teacher who can get through to you.”

Big Dreams.
After dabbling in college pre-med, Edward realized that business and finance were his true calling. He thinks he’ll pursue a J.D./M.B.A. and then, in 10 years, become the managing director of a law firm. Eventually, he wants to own a company of his own because his grandfather always told him that “it’s best to be your own boss.”

Smart essays focus on well-structured arguments. Grammar and spelling are secondary and give you no score advantage.
